Somerset is a small community located in El Dorado County, in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California. It is located to the east of the city of Sacramento and to the west of the Sierra Nevada Mountains at an elevation of 2,093 feet (638 meters). Its population was 3,642 in 2010.
