Temple Crag is a mountain peak in the Palisades group of peaks of the Sierra Nevada with an elevation of 12,982 feet (3,957 m). The peak lies east of the Sierra Crest, between Mount Gayley and Mount Alice, straddling the drainage of the North and South Forks of Big Pine Creek.
Big Pine is a census-designated place in Inyo County, California. Big Pine is the hub for exploring some of the grandest areas in the region, from the Sierra Nevada in the west to the White Mountains in the east. It is at an elevation of 3,989 feet (1,216 m). The population was 1,875 at the 2020 census, up from 1,756 at the 2010 census.
Baker Creek Campground is a picturesque camping area located near Big Pine, California, within the Inyo National Forest. The campground offers a variety of campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs. Some sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while others can be reserved in advance.
