Coal Oil Point Natural Reserve protects a wide variety of coastal and estuarine habitats. Largely undisturbed coastal dunes support a rich assemblage of dune vegetation and has become a nesting site for the endangered Snowy Plover.
Campus Point Beach is the surfing beach at the University of California, Santa Barbara. It is a popular spot, especially in the summer when there is small surf break. Campus Point is known as a beginning surfers area.
Devereux Beach is on the east side of Coal Oil Point in Isla Vista. During low tide at Devereux Beach there is an abundance of tide pools to explore throughout the point.
Sea Lookout Park is the largest ocean-side park, this wide grassy stretch on Del Playa serves as a picnic spot and play area for hundreds of people a day. The volleyball court is popular for large and small groups alike and the wooden structures provide a nice place to look out over the ocean.
Isla Vista is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Santa Barbara County, California in the United States. As of 2020 census, the community had a population of 15,500. The majority of residents are college students at University of California, Santa Barbara or at Santa Barbara City College.
