| The town is home to Pacific Union College, a private Seventh-day Adventist liberal arts college. It is also surrounded by vineyards and wineries, making it a popular destination for wine enthusiasts. Angwin has a population of around 3,000 people and covers an area of 4.87 square miles (12.6 km²). The town has a rural character, with many homes and businesses located on large lots or in wooded areas. It is part of the Howell Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area), which is known for producing high-quality wine grapes. Angwin is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) northeast of the city of St. Helena and 15 miles (24 km) northwest of the city of Napa.
