Fargo is the largest city and the county seat of Cass County in North Dakota. It is located in the southeastern part of the state, along the Red River of the North and also part of a metropolitan area known as the Fargo-Moorhead metro area, which includes Moorhead, Minnesota, located just across the river. Its population was 124,662 in 2019.
