Brazos County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 233,849. Bryan is the county seat, and College Station is the other major community in the county. Brazos County comprises 588 square miles of rolling prairie and woodland with elevations that range from 200 to 350 feet above sea level.
The northern third of the county is in the Blackland Prairie area and is vegetated by elm, oak, pecan, and mesquite trees along streams. The remainder of the county is in the Post Oak Savannah vegetation area, which features post oak, walnut, and pecan trees.
