The Bayless-Selby House Museum in Denton, Texas, is a beautifully restored Victorian-era home located within the Denton County Historical Park. The house was originally built as a simple two-room farmhouse in 1884 and was later expanded into a more elaborate Victorian structure by Samuel and Mary Bayless in 1898. | |
The Bayless family lived there until Samuel's death in 1919, after which it was sold to the Selby family, who maintained ownership until 1970. The house was eventually acquired by the City of Denton in 1997, and in 1998, it was moved to its current location in the Historical Park. The museum officially opened to the public in September 2001 following extensive restoration efforts. Today, the Bayless-Selby House Museum offers a glimpse into early 20th-century life in Denton County, featuring period-appropriate furnishings, artifacts, and a Victorian garden |
