Toms River is a township located in Ocean County, in the central-eastern part of New Jersey, near the Jersey Shore. It is bordered by several other municipalities, including Brick Township to the north, Lakewood Township to the west, and the Barnegat Bay to the east. As of 2020, the population of Toms River was approximately 94,000 residents, making it one of the largest townships in New Jersey.
