East Shore is a census-designated place in Plumas County, California. The population was 181 at the 2020 census, up from 156 at the 2010 census. The east shore of Lake Almanor, along Highway 147, is home to the famous “Lake Almanor Sunset” with sweeping views of Lassen Peak, Broke-off, Harkness and Carter Mountain across the changing mood and waters of the lake. | |
It is along the east shore of the lake, that one can literally stand and experience that place where the Cascade Mountain Range meets the Sierra Nevada Range. Driving or hiking this area can reveal the dramatic changes in geology where these two regions meet. |
