Vikingsholm is a historic mansion located in Tahoma, California, on the shore of Emerald Bay of Lake Tahoe. It was built in 1929 as a summer home for Lora Knight, a wealthy philanthropist and preservationist who was inspired by Scandinavian architecture. The mansion was designed by architect William Henry Weeks, and its construction took 200 workers and two years to complete.

General Creek Campground is a part of Sugar Pine Point State Park located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe and is a popular destination for visitors to Lake Tahoe for more than 200 years. There are 10 group campsites and 120 family campsites during the warmer months. Group sites are limited to 25 people.

Tahoma is a census-designated place in Placer and El Dorado counties, California. Tahoma is a sleepy community, nestled on the western shores of Lake Tahoe. It is located along Lake Tahoe 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of Homewood. Tahoma had a population of 969 in 2023 (there is more people in El Dorado County than in Placer County). It sits at the elevation of 1,932 m.
