Ubehebe Crater is a prominent volcanic feature located in the northern section of Death Valley National Park, California. It is part of the Ubehebe Craters volcanic field, which includes several overlapping craters formed by explosive volcanic activity. The largest crater is about 800 m (0.5 mi) wide and 250 m (800 ft) deep.
- Formation: The crater was created through a series of explosive events when molten basaltic magma encountered groundwater. This interaction caused steam to form, which built up pressure until it resulted in explosive eruptions, typical of maar volcanoes. The crater is estimated to be about 2,100 years old.

- Cinder Fields: The area surrounding Ubehebe Crater is covered with volcanic cinders resulting from past eruptions. These cinders can be seen prominently along access routes and on the dry bed of ancient Lake Rogers.

- Other Craters: Ubehebe is not alone; there are several smaller craters nearby, including Little Ubehebe Crater. Visitors can hike around the rim of Ubehebe Crater and explore these adjacent features.
