Conakryis the capital and largest city of Guinea. A port city on the Atlantic Ocean , it serves as the economic, financial and cultural centre of Guinea. Its population as of the 2014 Guinea census was 1,660,973. The harbour is an important trading post which exports various goods such as exotic fruits, coffee, cocoa and fish.

Mount Loura is the northernmost point and highest peak at 1,573 metres (5,161 ft) in the Fouta Djallon in northern Guinea.

Fouta Djallon is a highland region in the center of Guinea, roughly corresponding with Middle Guinea, in West Africa. The Fouta has mountains and gorges carved up by rivers and towering waterfalls. There is jungle thick enough to blot out the sun, with strangler figs climbing up centuries old trees, and sweeping vistas above the tree-line offering views of the lower altitude plains that lie to the north.
