| Georgetown is a historic town in El Dorado County, California, nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills. Founded during the Gold Rush in the 1840s, Georgetown became known as "The Pride of the Mountains" due to its prosperity and central role in mining activities. Today, it’s part of the larger area known as California's Gold Country. The population was 2,546 in the 2020 census, up from 2,367 in 2010, and 962 in 2000. | |
