Haleakala National Park is a national park located on the island of Maui in Hawaii, United States. The park encompasses over 33,000 acres and includes the summit of Haleakala, a massive shield volcano that rises over 10,000 feet above sea level.
The park is divided into two distinct sections: the summit area and the Kipahulu area. The summit area includes the volcano's massive crater, which is over 7 miles long, 2 miles wide, and 2,600 feet deep. Visitors to the summit can watch the sunrise or sunset over the crater, hike along several trails, and explore the unique volcanic landscape.

The Kipahulu area, located on the eastern side of the island, includes a lush, tropical rainforest and several waterfalls. Visitors can hike along the Pipiwai Trail, which leads to the 400-foot Waimoku Falls, or explore the coastal area and swim in the freshwater pools.

Haleakala National Park is also home to a diverse array of plant and animal species, including several endangered species such as the Hawaiian petrel and the Hawaiian goose.

The park is open year-round, and visitors can access the summit area via a scenic drive or several hiking trails. The Kipahulu area is accessible by driving the Hana Highway or taking a shuttle from the summit area.
