Huayna Picchu is the iconic mountain that rises sharply behind the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu in Peru. It forms part of the dramatic landscape that makes Machu Picchu one of the most awe-inspiring archaeological sites in the world. The mountain is famous for offering breathtaking views of the ruins of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andean mountains and valleys.
- Height: Standing at about 2,720 meters (8,920 feet) above sea level, it is slightly higher than the city of Machu Picchu itself but lower than the surrounding peaks of the Andes.

- Steep Trails: The climb to the summit of Huayna Picchu is steep and challenging, with narrow, zigzagging stone steps built by the Incas. The ascent takes about 1 to 2 hours depending on fitness level. Though demanding, it is not considered technically difficult.

- Temple of the Moon: One of the hidden gems on Huayna Picchu is the Temple of the Moon, a less-visited site that features Inca caves and intricate stonework. It’s located on the far side of the mountain and requires an additional hike to reach.

- Spectacular Views: From the top, climbers are rewarded with panoramic views of the Machu Picchu ruins below, the Urubamba River winding through the valley, and the lush, surrounding mountains covered in cloud forests.
