Dogbone Meadow is the City of Novato's only fenced-in off leash dog park. A 0.2 mile concrete walking path winds around a large area of sod turf (approximately 1 acre). Other features include agility equipment for dogs to enjoy. Brian's Place Gentle Play Area is a separate area designated for timid dogs, senior dogs, recovering dogs and small dogs.

Mount Burdell Open Space Preserve is a nature reserve in Marin County, California. Mount Burdell rises 1,558 feet (475 m) above sea level. Hidden Lake, a seasonal pond located about halfway to the top, is home to frogs, salamanders and other creatures during the wet season.

Novato is a city located in the northern part of Marin County, approximately 29 miles north of San Francisco. It is bordered by the cities of Petaluma to the north and San Rafael to the south. At the 2020 census, Novato had a population was 53,225.

Stafford Lake Park is situated on the shores of Stafford Lake, three miles west of Novato, this 139-acre regional park serves large scale events, large picnics, musical performances, and other festivities.

Olompali State Historic Park is a 700-acre park in Marin County, California, overlooking the Petaluma River and San Pablo Bay.
