Kabul is the capital and largest city located in the eastern part of Afghanistan, in the central highlands of the country. It is situated in the Kabul River Valley at an elevation of approximately 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level. According to 2023 estimates, the population of Kabul was 5 million people.
Here are some key points about Kabul:

History: Kabul has a long and rich history that dates back over 3,500 years. It has served as an important center of trade, culture, and politics throughout various periods, including the Achaemenid Empire, Mauryan Empire, Islamic Caliphates, and various Afghan dynasties.

Population: As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, Kabul has a population of over 4.6 million people, making it the most populous city in Afghanistan. The population has grown rapidly in recent years due to rural-to-urban migration.

Cultural Diversity: Kabul is a diverse city with various ethnic groups, including Pashtuns, Tajiks, Hazaras, and others. This diversity is reflected in the city's culture, traditions, languages, and cuisine.

Landmarks and Attractions: Kabul is home to several historical and cultural landmarks, although some may have been affected by years of conflict. Notable attractions include the historic Kabul Citadel (Bala Hissar), Babur's Gardens (Bagh-e Babur), the National Museum of Afghanistan, and the Kabul Zoo.

Economy: Kabul is the economic hub of Afghanistan. The city's economy is supported by a range of sectors, including government services, trade, transportation, manufacturing, and construction. Due to ongoing security challenges, economic development has faced obstacles in recent years.

Education: Kabul is home to several universities, colleges, and schools. The city's educational institutions play a vital role in providing education to Afghan students and contributing to the country's intellectual and human capital.
