Lalbagh Fort is a magnificent 17th-century Mughal fortress located in the old city of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The fort covers an area of about 18 acres and was constructed in 1678 by Prince Muhammad Azam, the third son of Emperor Aurangzeb. The fort was originally built as a residence for the prince, but he left the city before its completion, and it was later used as a military garrison during the British Raj.
The fort has three main parts: the mosque, the Diwan-i-Aam (the Audience Hall), and the tomb of Pari Bibi (a lady of the harem). The mosque is a single-domed structure with four octagonal towers, and it is surrounded by a courtyard. The Diwan-i-Aam is a two-storied building that was used as a royal court for public audiences. The tomb of Pari Bibi is a small, elegant structure with a curved roof and intricate terracotta decorations.

Over the years, Lalbagh Fort has undergone several renovations and restorations to preserve its rich history and cultural heritage. Today, it is a popular tourist attraction, and visitors can explore the fort's beautiful gardens, ancient architecture, and fascinating exhibits. The fort also hosts several cultural events throughout the year, including the Dhaka Art Summit, which showcases contemporary art from around the world.
