| It all began in 1988 when Martin Castillo (the eldest of the Castillo siblings) bought a one-way ticket from Lima to the U.S. and never looked back. A budding professional soccer player at the time, Martin intended to continue his streak in the States. Little did he know, a humbling yet spectacular career as a restaurateur would soon beckon his name. In the years to follow, two of Martin’s brothers – Antonio & Eduardo – would follow suit and join him in the U.S. alongside their mother Luz. Martin had spent much of his childhood cooking beside their mother and it wasn’t long before the Castillos were serving up home-style Peruvian dishes out of their apartment for family, friends and, soon enough, friends of friends. | |
