San Luis Obispo County, often referred to as SLO County, is located on the Central Coast of California. It's known for its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, and rolling hills. As of the 2020 census, the population was 282,424. The county seat is the city of San Luis Obispo, which is home to California Polytechnic State University.

It resides within Montaña de Oro State Park, offering views of rugged cliffs and sandy beaches. Visitors can explore the coastline for unique rocks and sea glass, the area is ideal for tidepooling, picnicking, and beachcombing. Other activities include climbing rocks and exploring caves.

Los Osos Valley Equine Farm, often referred to as LOVE Farm, is a well-established equestrian facility located in Los Osos, California. This farm has been serving the community since 1968 and offers a variety of equine services including horse boarding, training, and riding lessons.

The Elfin Forest is a 90-acre natural area. Its plant communities include coastal brackish marsh, riparian woodland fringe, pygmy oak woodland, maritime chaparral, coastal dune scrub, and oak and manzanita complex.

Los Osos Oaks State Reserve preserves centuries-old coast live oaks (Quercus agrifolia) growing atop relict sand dunes. The 85acre park was established in 1972.

With 18 acres at the end of Monarch Lane in Los Osos, the Monarch Grove Natural Area offers plenty of habitat. With the help of a retired Cal Poly biology professor, this Monarch butterfly habitat is becoming a more welcoming site for Monarchs.

Montana de Oro State Park has 8,000 acres of cliffs, sandy beaches, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills, including the 1,347-foot Valencia Peak. The park has many hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails, as well as a campground.

Los Osos Valley Nursery is a small family-owned plant nursery nestled amongst the eucalyptus trees by the sea on the south end of Estero Bay, right next to Montaña de Oro California State Park. Established in 1977 by Lee and Tish Linsley, It has been proudly offering the services to the community for over forty years.
