Marina is a city in Monterey County, California. The United States Census Bureau estimated its 2019 population at 22,781. Marina is wonderfully diverse, teeming with options for food, culture, and adventure.

Fort Ord Dunes State Park has a 1,500 foot trail to 4 miles of ocean beach with beautiful views of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. From the parking area visitors may also take a stroll on the new boardwalk to a bluff top viewing platform.

The coastal dunes along our south Monterey Bay form a narrow edge between former dunes and the bay. This strip of land is steadily changing from wind and wave forces. During especially strong winter storms, this change can be quite obvious along the foredune. Beyond the storm-wave run-up area the rate of change is less perceptible.
