Paraguay is a country in South America. It is bordered by Argentina to the south and southwest, Brazil to the east and northeast, and Bolivia to the northwest. It has a population of 7 million, nearly 3 million of whom live in the capital and largest city of Asuncion, and its surrounding metro.

The Ruins of Jesus de Tavarangue are a set of well-preserved ruins located in Paraguay, near the city of Encarnacion. These ruins are the remains of a Jesuit mission that was established in the mid-17th century, with construction starting in 1685 and continuing until 1760.
