Tennessee is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by eight other states: Kentucky and Virginia to the north, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, and Arkansas and Missouri to the west. The state's capital and largest city is Nashville. Tennessee's population as of the 2020 United States census is approximately 6.9 million.

Thompson Lane Trailhead provides access to the historic McFadden farm property. This was the site of one of the bloodiest engagements in the Battle of Stones River and is marked with an artillery monument.

General Bragg Trailhead houses a picnic pavilion that has restrooms, a water fountain, and a children’s playground.

The Earth Experience, the Middle Tennessee Museum of Natural History, is the first natural history museum in Middle Tennessee. The museum has displays from all over the world but has a very large number of items from Tennessee.

The Discovery Center at Murfree Spring is a children's museum, nature center and wetlands boardwalk near downtown Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Stones River National Battlefield is a 570-acre (2.3 km2) park along the Stones River to memorialize the Battle of Stones River.
