Sanderson is a small unincorporated community located in northeastern Florida, within Baker County. It is approximately 15 miles southwest of the city of Jacksonville. The John M. Bethea State Forest is a forested area and conservation area located in northeastern Florida, close to the town of Sanderson. It is part of Baker County and is approximately 40 miles west of Jacksonville. The 37,735-acre forest establishes a continuous wildlife corridor between the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the Osceola National Forest.

Osceola Wildlife Management Area is a peaceful place where people come to escape their busy lives and reconnect with the land. People can also enjoy hiking, bird watching, horseback riding and seasonal hunting.

Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park is a Florida State Park in the Osceola National Forest. The site of Florida's largest Civil War battle, the park is located 50mi west of Jacksonville. It also has the distinction of being the first park in the Florida State Park system.
