Copan Ruins is an ancient Maya archaeological site located in the western part of Honduras, near the border with Guatemala. The site was occupied by the Maya people for over 2,000 years, from the 5th century AD until the 9th century AD, and it is considered one of the most important archaeological sites of the Maya civilization.
