The campground is located along Highway 88 (Carson Pass Highway) and sits at an elevation of approximately 7,200 feet. It is in Amador County, close to the town of Pioneer, and a short distance from Kirkwood and Caples Lake. Silver Lake itself is surrounded by alpine scenery, including forests, granite peaks, and the Mokelumne Wilderness area. Campsites: Silver Lake West has around 60 campsites that can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring, and there are restroom facilities with vault toilets available. There are no hookups for RVs, but potable water is available. |
