The Treasury, or Al-Khazneh, located in Wadi Musa, Jordan, is one of the most iconic structures of the ancient city of Petra, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Petra, also known as the "Rose City" for the color of its stone, was once the capital of the Nabataean Kingdom and is famous for its rock-cut architecture.
- Al-Khazneh is a masterpiece of Nabataean engineering and design. Carved directly into the pink sandstone cliff, it stands about 40 meters (131 feet) high and is around 25 meters (82 feet) wide.

- The façade is a blend of Greek, Egyptian, and Nabataean influences, reflecting the diverse cultural exchanges in the region during the time of its construction, which is believed to be in the 1st century AD.

- The structure is richly decorated with intricate carvings, Corinthian columns, statues of mythical figures, and friezes, showcasing the craftsmanship of the Nabataeans.

Despite its name, "The Treasury," Al-Khazneh was not actually a treasury. The name comes from Bedouin legends that claimed an urn at the top of the structure contained hidden treasures left by ancient pharaohs.
