Yankeetown is a town in Levy County, Florida. It is located in North Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. It is part of both the Big Bend Coast and the Nature Coast. In the 2020 census, the population was 588, up from 502 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Gainesville, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Unique within Florida, Yankeetown is a small, hidden hamlet on the Gulf of Mexico, where nature and neighbors blend together. Majestic Oak trees draped with Spanish moss provide the background to the main street, while the beautiful Withlacoochee River provides the scenic waterway. Established in 1923, many of the original homes have been lovingly preserved, providing Yankeetown with a unique and charming landscape and rich history.

Residents and visitors alike enjoy boating, fishing, the abundant wildlife and birds, the natural hammocks, marshlands, nature trails, bike paths, and kayaking. Waving hello to a passerby is a must in this friendly town, along with enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Serenity and nature have made Yankeetown their home.
