| Monroe is a city located in the northeastern part of the state of Louisiana, United States. It is the parish seat of Ouachita Parish and is situated on the east bank of the Ouachita River. It had a population of 47,702 in 2020. It is located approximately 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Shreveport and about 90 miles (145 kilometers) south of the Arkansas state line. | |
