Captain Pomin Rock is located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. Its location, about half way in between the north and south end of the lake, gives it an amazing perspective of Lake Tahoe, almost 1,300’ below. The rock itself has a prominence of approximately 500’ give or take, equal to the prominence it has above US 50.
