The Dunes of Baní, also known as "Las Dunas de Baní," are a remarkable natural wonder in the Dominican Republic, located near the town of Baní in the southwestern part of the country. This unique area, which is part of the Las Calderas Peninsula, features a vast desert-like landscape with towering sand dunes, some reaching up to 35 meters (115 feet) in height. It's one of the few desert-like regions in the Caribbean and a protected area due to its ecological and geological significance.
