Drytown is a small, unincorporated community in Amador County, California, with a rich history dating back to the California Gold Rush. It is the oldest community in Amador County, established in 1848, and was once a bustling mining town during the height of the gold rush. Despite its name, Drytown wasn't always "dry" — it was known for its numerous saloons during its heyday, reportedly boasting as many as 26 at one point. Its population was 186 in 2020.
