| The Araucanía region is one of Chile's 16 first-tier administrative units, comprising two provinces: Malleco in the north and Cautín in the south. It stretches from the Pacific coast in the west to the volcanoes and Andes Mountains in the east. Its capital and largest city is Temuco; other important cities include Angol and Villarrica.
