Monach clusters are found in over 200 coastal sites, including several sites in San Luis Obispo County. The Pismo State Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove generally has one of the largest overwintering western monarch populations.

Margo Dodd Park includes a breathtaking ocean view, covered gazebo (ideal for weddings), a grassy recreation area, bicycle parking and on-street parking. This park offers excellent photo opportunities of marine and bird life and a rugged coastal terrain.
This 11-acre, ocean-front, bluff-top park is popular with walkers, photographers, dog lovers, joggers, and fishing enthusiasts. Park amenities include a wedding location overlooking the ocean, as well as a grassy reception area, and an amphitheater for entertainment events.

There is a small sandy beach below Memory Park along Seacliff Drive in the Shell Beach area of Pismo Beach, but the cliffs at the park are too steep to allow access.
