Vinh is the capital of Nghe An province, Vietnam. The city is situated in the north-central region of Vietnam, along the banks of the Lam River. It serves as the economic, cultural, and political center of Nghe An province. Vinh is approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) south of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. Vinh had a population of 502,140 in 2018.
