Temescal Regional Recreation Area is a popular outdoor destination located in Oakland, California. The park spans over 48 acres and features a variety of recreational activities, including hiking, biking, fishing, and picnicking.
A pristine wooded canyon is protected in this 290-acre parkland near Merritt College in Oakland. Restoration is in progress along Rifle Range Creek along Leona Trail to reduce erosion and protect the riparian ecosystem. Dogs and humans are not allowed in the creek.
Several trails provide access throughout the preserve. The 31-mile East Bay Skyline National Recreation Trail, part of the Bay Area Ridge Trail system, traverses the preserve along the ridgeline between Wildcat Canyon and Anthony Chabot Parks. Round Top Road goes from the Sibley visitor center to the top of Round Top. Round Top Loop Trail circles Round Top peak.Â
Skyline Gate Staging Area is a gateway into the protected area spanning over 1000 acres of redwood forest and grassland. The scenery differs greatly from the entrance near Redwood Bowl. This starts on the outer edge of the park, and you can take the West or East Ridge Trails around the edges of the park. You will have views of the valley and trails lined with eucalyptus trees.
Chappell Hayes Observation Tower offers fantastic views of the Oakland Estuary and the Port's shipping activities. Visitors may use the free viewing binoculars at Pt. Arnold and in the observation tower.

Huckleberry Botanic Regional Preserve is a 241 acre regional park and nature reserve in the Berkeley Hills. Trails connect the preserve with Robert Sibley Volcanic Preserve on the north, and Redwood Regional Park on the south.
As well as thousands of roses, the Morcom Rose Garden features winding walkways, a reflecting pool, and a cascading fountain. The garden is available for weddings and can hold up to 200 people.

Montclair Railroad Trail provides a beautiful natural setting for walking, jogging, hiking and bicycling. Dogs on-leash are welcome too. The paved, flat trail is 1.5 miles long.
