Arnold is a census-designated place (CDP) in Calaveras County, California, United States. The population was 3,288 at the 2020 census, down from 4,218 at the 2000 census. Arnold is located on State Route 4. The Arnold area is a scenic playground with something for everyone!
Calaveras Big Trees State Park is a state park of California, preserving two groves of giant sequoia trees. These groves include the “Discovery Treeâ€, also known as the “Big Stumpâ€, the first Sierra redwood noted by Augustus T. Dowd in 1852. This area has been a major tourist attraction ever since, and is considered the longest continuously operated tourist facility in California.
