A 550-foot pier provides access to great fishing in the San Joaquin River at Antioch/Oakley Regional Shoreline, located just upstream from Highway 160's Nejedly Bridge in Antioch. Fishing, picnicking and kite flying are all favorite pastimes. Fishing from the pier is allowed 24 hours daily.
Riverview Park is a 4 acre community park that sits right along the waters edge of the Delta. There is a large picnic area with 5 picnic tables and one large bbq pit at the west edge of the park. This picnic area is very private and sits above a little cove. There are also 5 other picnic areas with bbq pits that sit above the waters edge and all provide breathtaking views of the Delta.
Besides panoramic views of the mountain and its surroundings, Diablo Foothills' 1,060 acres contain interesting geologic features, beautiful wildflowers in season, and a variety of bird and animal life. Diablo Foothills Regional Park offers abundant open land for horseback riding, hiking, bicycling and nature study. There are no developed facilities in the park.
Many visitors to Mount Diablo head straight for the Summit to enjoy the famous view. As mountains go, Mount Diablo isn't particularly tall - only 3,849 feet. However, it is surrounded by low, rolling hills and broad, flat valleys, so the view from the Summit is remarkable.
The Radke Martinez Regional Shoreline Park offers visitors a variety of experiences. There are group picnic areas, Baseball fields, bocce ball courts and soccer fields in the eastern section of the park, operated by the City of Martinez.
