It is located on the Eel River along U.S. Route 101, 8.5 miles (13.7 km) southeast of Fortuna and 244 miles (393 km) north of San Francisco. Scotia has a population of 681 in 2010 census. Once a company owned town, Scotia is now transitioning into a community of privately owned homes and businesses. | |
