The Monastery of St. John is a community of Christian men striving to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, working out their salvation in discipleship to Christ in the Orthodox Church. They embrace the evangelical ideals of poverty, chastity, obedience and stability. They strive for unity of mind and heart with one another in a communion of love, having all things in common and living a shared life of work and prayer.
The brothers of the Abbey of New Clairvaux are a community of Trappist monks living a life of contemplative prayer and work. This abbey belongs to the worldwide Catholic Order of monks called the Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance.
