Berkeley County is located in the Shenandoah Valley in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. According to the 2020 census, the county had a population of 122,076, making it the second most populous of West Virginia's 55 counties, after Kanawha County. The city of Martinsburg is the county's administrative center.
The General Adam Stephen House is a 1770s colonial-style house museum furnished with period pieces. The Triple Brick Museum next door is an artifact museum related to archaeology on the property and to the early cultural history of the town.
