North Jetty is a prominent landmark located in Samoa, California. It is situated at the mouth of Humboldt Bay, just west of Eureka. The North Jetty is a long rock structure built to help maintain the navigation channel and protect the harbor from wave action and sediment deposition. Samoa is a small unincorporated community located in Humboldt County, California, on the Samoa Peninsula. It is situated just west of Eureka, adjacent to the mouth of Humboldt Bay. The community of Samoa was historically associated with the lumber and fishing industries, and remnants of its industrial past can still be seen in the area. The population was 229 at the 2020 census.
As a visitor to this 300 acre park you may take advantage of a wide variety of recreational activities, including hiking, surfing, fishing, sightseeing, beachcombing, off-highway vehicle (OHV) use, picnicking, and birdwatching.
Samoa Beach is the long strand of beach on the ocean side of the Samoa Peninsula near Eureka. The small community of Samoa with its historic Samoa Cookhouse Restaurant is nearby on the peninsula.
