Inyokern is a small unincorporated community located in the Indian Wells Valley of Kern County, California. It is situated in the eastern part of the state, in the high desert region of the Mojave Desert, which is known for its arid climate and desert landscapes. It is situated approximately 10 miles west of Ridgecrest and around 115 miles north of Los Angeles. The population was 988 in 2020.
