The Sconset Bluff Walk is a public walking trail approximately 2 miles (round trip) long, running through a section of Sconset Bluff, behind private estates, along the east coast of Nantucket. It offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and sandbars, but there is no dedicated parking for this trail. The dirt path is narrow and rough in some sections.
The Sankaty Head Lighthouse is located on Nantucket Island. Built in 1850, it was automated in 1965 and is still operational. This approximately 21-meter-tall brick and granite structure sits atop a cliff at the end of what is now Baxter Road in Siasconset, flashing a white light every 7.5 seconds. It was one of the first lighthouses in the United States to be equipped with a Fresnel lens.
Siasconset is a census-designated location situated east of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, at an elevation of 52 feet (16 m). According to the 2020 census, Siasconset had a population of 505. Siasconset is a historic coastal village known for its charming rose-covered cottages with grey tile roofs, the iconic red and white Sankaty Head lighthouse, and the stunning clifftop walking trail.
