Verdugo Mountain Park is actually located in the neighboring city of Glendale, California. The park is situated on the western side of the Verdugo Mountains, which run north-south between the San Fernando Valley and the Los Angeles Basin.

La Tuna Canyon Park is a 1,100-acre La Tuna Canyon Park providing trail access into the steep upper reaches of the Verdugo Mountains. Parking and picnic tables are provided at the trailhead. A trail from the parking lot leads to another picnic area at “The Grotto,†one half mile further up La Tuna Canyon Road.
