Ulaanbaatar is the capital city of Mongolia, located in the north-central part of the country. With a population of over 1.5 million people, it is the largest city in Mongolia and the cultural, economic, and political center of the country.
Ulaanbaatar was founded in 1639 as a nomadic Buddhist monastic center, but has since grown into a modern metropolis with a mix of traditional and modern architecture. The city is surrounded by four sacred mountains and is situated on the banks of the Tuul River.

Some of the city's main attractions include the Gandantegchinlen Monastery, the National Museum of Mongolia, the Zaisan Memorial, and the Chinggis Khaan Square. Visitors can also explore the city's many markets, parks, and restaurants, and experience traditional Mongolian culture through music, dance, and food.

Ulaanbaatar is also a gateway to the rest of Mongolia, with many tourists using the city as a starting point for their travels throughout the country. From Ulaanbaatar, visitors can take day trips to nearby attractions such as the Terelj National Park or the Genghis Khan Statue Complex, or embark on longer expeditions to explore the Gobi Desert, the Altai Mountains, and other remote regions of Mongolia.
