Beautiful views of the entire Ventura coastline and hills, small lapping waves, and windblown sand dunes are just a few things that attract local families to Harbor Cove Beach. Harbor Cove Beach serves as the perfect spot for waterfront activities such as kayaking, flying kites, and watching the boats go in and out of the harbor.

Big Rock is one of the only places between the estuary and Matilija Canyon that has year-round water. This is due to the particular geology of the area, where the bedrock is very close to the Earth's surface. You can see endangered steelhead trout at this preserve, as well as western pond turtles, herons, bobcats, and lots of other wildlife.

Arroyo Verde Hiking Trail is a loop that starts from the first parking lot after you enter the park. There is a fee for parking within park limits on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays: $2 per hour or $5 maximum per car per day.

The Ventura Promenade is an oceanfront pathway that runs between the Ventura Pier and Surfers Point. Trail users can continue east into the San Buenaventura State Beach area but the trail ends at San Pedro St.

Harmon Canyon Preserve, established in 2020, is Ventura's first large-scale nature preserve. At 2,100 acres, visitors enjoy hills and canyons that feature oak groves, stream crossings, and breathtaking views of Southern California mountain ranges, coastlines, and Channel Islands National Park.

The Olivas Adobe historic site features the restored two-story adobe home of Don Raymundo Olivas. Built in 1847, this Monterey-style adobe home, Historical Landmark No. 115 from the Rancho-era, celebrates Ventura’s Rancho and Latino heritage through docent-led weekend tours, educational outreach programs for school groups, and community events.

Rincon Parkway Campground is a scenic stretch of roadway offering outstanding views of the Pacific coastline and the Channel Islands. 127 parking spaces are available for Recreational Vehicle (RV) use. Tent camping is not allowed per County of Ventura Ordinance.

Solimar Beach is a beautiful beach located along the Pacific Coast Highway in Ventura, California. The beach is known for its long stretches of sandy shoreline, crystal-clear waters, and picturesque views of the surrounding mountains.

Surfer’s Point, off Figueroa Street, includes one of California’s premier surfing and windsurfing spots. A landscaped promenade and the Omer Rains Bike Trail connect this sandy beach to the Ventura Pier. Promenade Park, next to the beach commemorates the site of an ancient Chumash village.

A series of beautiful green hill ranges serve as the backdrop for this picturesque park. The Ventura River flows through the park, which lends to the beautiful landscape of lush green vegetation that thrives among the adult shade trees. The Ojai Valley Trail (equestrian, bike, and walking) runs through the park.
