Ciudad Perdida, also known as the Lost City, is an ancient city located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range in Colombia. It is believed to have been built by the Tayrona civilization, which thrived in the area between the 11th and 14th centuries.
The city was abandoned and forgotten for centuries until it was rediscovered in the 1970s by a group of treasure hunters. Since then, the site has been studied extensively by archaeologists, and it has become a popular tourist destination.

To visit Ciudad Perdida, visitors must embark on a multi-day trek through the jungle, crossing rivers and steep terrain. The journey can be physically challenging, but it is also incredibly rewarding, as visitors are able to explore the ruins of this ancient city and learn about the history of the Tayrona civilization.

Due to its remote location, the Colombian government has taken steps to protect the site, including limiting the number of visitors and requiring that all visitors be accompanied by a licensed guide.
