| Cross Ranch State Park is a 569-acre (230 ha) public recreational area located on the west bank of the Missouri River, nine miles (14 km) south of Washburn in Oliver County, North Dakota. This state park and nature preserve offers 16 miles (26 km) of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. The park also provides kayaking, canoeing, cabins, nomadic tents, and camping. | |
| There are boat docks and canoe and kayak rentals for those wishing to explore this picturesque stretch of river, while anglers will find tilapia, salmon, catfish, rainbow trout, pike, and bass in the waters. An extensive trail system can be explored by hiking or skiing through the forest during the winter months. The trails provide access to a 5,000-acre nature reserve with mixed meadows, riparian forests, and densely wooded ravines. Campers can utilize the park's pristine campgrounds or hike to their own campsites in the more remote mountainous area. The park is also known for its bluegrass music festival held in June. | |
