Frederick County is located in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2020 United States census, the population was 91,419. Its county seat is Winchester. Frederick County is the northern-most point in Virginia, a mid-point of the East Coast.
The County sits at the mouth of the Shenandoah Valley which stretches 200 miles between two mountain ranges - The Blue Ridge Mountains to the East and The Allegheny Mountains (part of the Appalachian Mountain Range) to the West. The Valley is bound by two rivers, the Potomac River to the North and the James River to the South.

Built by Major Isaac Hite Jr. and his wife, Nelly Madison Hite—sister of President James Madison—the farm originally spanned 7,500 acres, cultivated by slave labor to produce grain, raise livestock, and operate milling plants.
